On June 3, at 3:30 p.m. Dufferin OPP were conducting radar patrol on Provincial Highway 10 near the 30th Sideroad in Mono.

Officers  observed a southbound Black BMW 5IA travelling at a high rate of speed. Police activated radar and clocked this vehicle at 160km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Police initiated a traffic stop.  The male driver from Toronto was charged with stunt driving in excessive speed 160km/h in an 80 km/h zone contrary to the highway traffic act, and issued a summons. His driver’s license was suspended for 7 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The driver will appear in Orangeville court at a later date.

Police are reminding residents to contact the OPP Communications Centre immediately at 1-888-310-1122 or *677  to report any Traffic complaints. Information such as suspect physical descriptions, suspect vehicles and direction of travel are useful tools for investigators.
