Shelburne ‘soars’ to new heights at Soaring Heart Wellness

June 6, 2013   ·   0 Comments

The owners of Soaring Heart Wellness – Shelburne’s Whole Family Health Food Store – Ellen Brakel and Joey Lemieux, are pleased to announce new yoga classes will begin June 12th at their existing location.

“We always want to work with Shelburne, find their passions. People are so creative. The new yoga classes will accommodate all levels of ability. As the schedule progresses, we can even plan for group sessions,” said Brakel.

What if you don’t have yoga supplies? Lemieux has that covered, “We have extra yoga mats. We also will be working on breathing exercises. This will be great for all ages, the young, the elderly, even someone suffering from spinal injuries can benefit from these classes.”

The newly scheduled classes will be held in the upstairs studio of the store from 1 – 2 p.m, (classes start June 12th) and interested parties may register at the store, online, or by phone.

Registration will cost $15 plus HST per class including other options such as an $80 plus HST for 6 classes, and $105 plus HST for 8 classes.

Both Brakel and Lemieux are Certified Yoga Instructors with 7 years teaching experience. As new yoga classes get underway, they will gauge community response and add new class times as needed.

“We are hoping for even more classes to begin and advise people to keep an eye on the schedule for upcoming changes.”

With this kind of forward thinking, it’s no surprise that even youth yoga classes could be planned for the future.

Personal goals for these business owners include making a positive impact on the Shelburne community, in a creative and artistic manner.

“I’d love to show youth how to turn emotions and especially negative emotions, into positive emotions through art,” says Brakel, an established artist herself. “That way youth could create an artistic venue as an outlet.”

Brakel’s artwork is featured in the store as well as healthy foods, unique gifts, art and meditation literature. The store even boasts a Smoothie Cafe.

Whether you like to do yoga or not, be sure to pop into the store this August to help Lemieux and Brakel celebrate  Soaring Heart Wellness’ 5th Anniversary.
