Casting call for Shelburne’s next community theatre production

June 13, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Open auditions will take place for the Tipling Stage Company’s 2013–2014 season-opening production of Grounded, by John Spurway, on Sunday, June 23rd at 2 p.m. at Grace Tipling Hall in Shelburne.

Five passengers wait in a departure lounge Pearson Airport for their snowstorm-delayed Air Canada flight. Nathan, the loner travelling on business to the Cayman Islands ignores the attempts at conversation from the more gregarious Elizabeth, a cosmetic salesperson, and Marion, a spunky senior. An eloping couple, on their way to the dream ‘wedding on the beach’ join them and the many twists and turns of the plot take us from classic sit-com scenario to spy spoof to – well, just who is supposed to be following who, and why?

Director Debbit Tait will be casting two men (30s to 50s) and three women (20s to 70s) and everybody interested in theatre is invited to come out and audition.

Rehearsals are Sundays 1 – 5 p.m. and Wednesdays and/or Thursdays 7 – 10 p.m. August 8th to October 2nd.

Performances – October 4th and 5th at 8 p.m., 6th at 2 p.m., 11th and 12th at 8 p.m. Please note that there is also a privately booked matinée on the 12th in addition to the evening performance.

The Tipling Stage Company is Shelburne’s award-winning community theatre company, presenting two plays and a pantomime each season at Grace Tipling Hall. For more information, visit www.tiplingstagecompany.com
