Student: Leah Lobuono
Placement: Lubinator
This week Leah Lobuono from Centre Dufferin District High School shares a little bit about their experience and how Lubinator is contributing to their and our community’s future.
Lubinator is owned by Bill Davies, and he and David Bellamy are the Automotive Service Technicians/Mechanics. Some of the services they provide include oil changes, tire changes, car detailing, repairing engines, replacing and installing brakes, general automotive repair’s, as well as suspension and exhaust work.
My Co-op placement job title is Lubination Technician and some of the jobs I regularly work on include replacing parts on vehicles, installing and balancing tires, as well as completing oil changes and the oil change and part sheets. Some tasks I have had a chance to learn more about include replacing an engine belt, replacing a carburetor, as well as replacing brakes, headlights and wheel bearings. During my time at Lubinator I have learned how to properly use a large variety of air tools, ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, jacks, as well as how to safely run both the 2 and 4 post car hoists, the tire machine and the tire balance machine.
Some careers that could be related to this position include Electricians, Plumbers, Car Detailers, and HVAC Technician.
Lubinator contributes to our community by employing locals, providing honest and trustworthy service, and consistently completing quality work on every car to ensure customer safety. Each year they sponsor the Muskies and Derby Cars, as well as supporting a variety of charities, and donating to the Heritage Festival. Lubinator also prides themselves on shopping locally for parts and supplies.
