Twin Hand’s great-great-granddaughter Anne Fisher of Michigan is dwarfed by the life-size cardboard statue of the creator/operator of the 1863 Stanton Hotel Sunday, although Carl Tafel, left, comes close in height but current 1876 Hand house owner Dave Apple is considerably shorter. The star at left might have identified the Orangeville house as the residence/office of the town’s first constable. The Maple Leaf flag at the right would have been a Union Jack or Red Ensign back when the house was built for Mr. Hand.
