Shelburne Cricket Club host several weekend games

The Shelburne Cricket Club (SCC) is finishing off the season and getting in the final few games while the weather is still good for playing.

The Club has hosted several city teams at KTH Park in Shelburne.

On Sept. 24, the North Stars and Morning Stars had their tri-series final. The North Start won by 19 runs to secure the annual house Stars Championship Trophy.

Unike Patel was declared ‘man of the match’ with 36 runs and two wickets.

The following day, the Stars were up against the Orillia Cricket Club for the Stars T25 Cup. It was a 25 overs game with Orillia winning the toss and deciding to field.

The Stars came out strong putting 130 runs on the board.

With the Orillia club came to bat, Mohammad Abdul Razzaq, made a SCC record by taking six wickets.

The Stars took all wickets in 13 overs, securing the win by 49 runs.

Mahammad Abdule Razzaq was named ‘man of the match.’

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the SCC hosted UZ Markhor from Brampton to play for the T25 Fall Cup.

UZ Markhor won the toss and decided to bat. They started strong and made 189 runs on the board with Danish Bashir making 103 runs.

The Stars debuted two youth players in this match, Hisaan Siddiqui, and Mohammad Raza, giving the younger players a taste of longer format cricket.

Mohammad Raza delivered excellent bowling and took three important wickets.

When the Stars came to bat, they could only make 143 runs, losing the match by 46 runs.

Danish Bashir from UZ Markhor was declared ‘man of the match.’

The Stars me the Alliston Simcoe Cricket Club the following day to play for the Simcoe-Dufferin Cup.

The Stars won the toss and decided to bat.

Putting up a total of 258 runs, it was the highest total in SCC history with Hassan Adil making 119 runs.

Ahsen Siddiqui took four wickets followed by Shamsher Singh with three wickets.

The Stars won the match and were awarded the Cup.
