CDDHS boys’ volleyball teams in District 4 playoffs

Both boys’ volleyball teams from Centre Dufferin District High School are in the District 4 playoffs this year.

The season was played in a series of tournament days at different schools through October and into November. The season wrapped up with a final tournament day at Westside Secondary School in Orangeville on Nov. 9.

Juniors

The CDDHS Royals junior boys’ volleyball team had a good season finishing in second place in the District 4 standings. They won nine of 12 matches played during the season – good for 18 points.

They were tied in points with the first-place team from Emmanuel Christian High School from Fergus.

In third place, Wellington Heights Secondary School ended the regular season with 10 points.

Westside Secondary School finished in the number four spot to earn a place in
the playoffs.

The playoffs feature the top four teams in a semi-final match.

The two remaining teams play off of the District championship and will earn the right to go on and compete at the regional level at CWOSSA.

Seniors

The CDDHS Royals senior boys’ volleyball team finished third in the regular season with 14 points.

They have a 7-5 record going into
the playoffs.

The senior volleyball division had a tight battle going this year with the top three teams separated by only two points at the end of the regular season.

Westside Secondary School finished in the top spot with 16 points.

Wellington Heights Secondary School ended the regular season in second place with 14 points.

Emmanuel Christian High School got a playoff berth with a fourth-place finish.

The top four teams will battle it out in a semi-final round with the two remaining teams playing for the District 4 championship.

The winner will go on to represent the District in the regional CWOSSA competition on Nov. 17.
