MULTIPLE TALENTS – From left, Mary Lazier, Mark Tichenor and Lynda Buffett pose by a table with potter created by Mary and Mark and, behind them, artwork by Mary’s daughter Sara Hamilton. STUDIO LIKE HOME – If Nick Swidersky feels at home in his studio on Airport Road, it might be because he has spent most of his life in the Olde Stanton Store building that once served as the family residence but became what it is today in about 1980. He studied art at Georgian College and has operated his studio at the rear of the store since graduation. Here he displays some of his variety, and much of the rest of his oils is concentrated on hockey. In addition to the oil paintings, Nick has a variety of sculptures.

A SCENE FROM ITALY – Linda Jenetti explains her oil painting of an Italian scene to a grandson during the North of 89 open art studio tour Sunday. Linda is among several of the artists whose earlier studios included Shelburne’s former Junior School, aka “School on the Hill,” which Ruth Robertson converted into an ideal location for art displays along with a refreshment area. Linda works with oil, watercolour and mixed media. She does mainly local and northern scenery as well as of Italian locations she has visited. Her Second Line East, Mulmur, might seem isolated but is easily accessed by appointment.
