Shelburne Police Service responded to 65 calls for service between November 10th and November 17th.

Man charged with uttering death threats, intimidation of judicial participant and criminal harassment: 

Back in July 2013 Shelburne Police executed drug search warrant on Main Street East resulting in two adult males and a youth facing numerous drug and criminal related charges.  This matter is currently before the courts.

In relation to that matter Shelburne Police initiated an investigation after allegations of threats and threatening behaviour were made.  As a result of that investigation 47 year old Glenn Halfyard of Shelburne was arrested on Tuesday November 12th and faced three criminal charges.  The charges were Uttering Death Threats, Intimidation of a Judicial Participant and Criminal Harassment.  Halfyard was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Veteran’s short changed – two callous youth steal poppy donation box: 

Two days before Remembrance Day a couple local youth callously stole a Poppy Donation Box from Pete’s Donuts at the corner of Main Street East and County Road 124 and then spent the money on themselves.

Both youth were arrested a few days later.  They have both been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime.  They have been provided court dates in December.

The youth cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Report of suspicious pet death, no poisoning can be confirmed: 

Shelburne Police launched an investigation after a citizen reported what the person believed to be a suspicious death of a beloved pet.

The police investigation included consultation with local veterinary offices.  Police have been unable to confirm that any animals have been poisoned.

Shelburne Police is continuing its investigation and would like to assure all pet owners that any suspicions of animal cruelty will be investigated fully.
