B&E in Barrie leaves many without Internet access

Crime Stoppers of Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka along with the Barrie Police Service are requesting the assistance of the public in solving this crime.

On November 4th, at 6:26 a.m. police were called to 520 Bryne Drive to investigate an attempted break and enter and mischief at a commercial building complex.

Police learned that an unknown suspect broke into the electrical room and deliberately cut the main fibre optic cables for Compu-SOLVE.   Compu-SOLVE is a company that provides Internet access and communications to major businesses throughout Simcoe County.

As a result of this mischief, all of Compu-SOLVE’s clients were without Internet access and regular business operations were effectively shut-down for much of the day. The financial loss is unknown.

Police are continuing their investigation with the assistance of Forensic Identification experts and are requesting anyone with information about the person responsible for this crime to please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or go to www.tipsubmit.com to send a web tip.
