We invite you all to join us  this Sunday 10 a.m. for service, after which  we will be celebrating  January Birthdays and Anniversaries with sandwiches and cake, followed by a free skating provided by  the Shelburne Arena at 1 p.m.!

Come out and Let’s have fun getting to know each other!

Despite the blistery cold weather, our hearts were drawn towards God and we offered jubilant worship. Bob read Deuteronomy 10:17-19 and the team lead us into joyful songs. Pastor Don prayed over the service in faith and humility; we remember the elderly and shut-ins this season, we pray for safety and for loving people to come to assist them in their daily needs, we also pray for everyone’s safety on the treacherous winter roads.

Pastor Don came forth to present us with a spirit filled message; he began, “Can we really trust God? Do we trust Him with all we have?” We can all agree that trusting is crucial to any relationship. However I pose this next question, can God trust us? We all need to come to that trust test line and choose; do we cross over it, trust God and obey him or do we shy away and remain less than what God intends us to be? God bestows many blessings upon us, and he entrusts us with many gifts to glorify Him and we need to learn to trust and obey Him to be good stewards; when we do He can trust us with more. We should be able to trust a God who protects us and has control over all things,(Luke 8:22- 25.) If we choose to trust Him and want to obey Him we can be certain that if we ask Him He will lead us the right way(Psalms 139:23,24.)

The Acronym Trust can help us remember the steps to good stewardship of God’s blessings; ‘T’ is “Take inventory, are we doing as God asks of us and how much do we trust Him,( Proverbs 3:5). ‘R’ is “Recognizing that God knows all things, created all things and is the giver of all things, (Colossians 1:15-17). “

‘U’ is ”Understanding God’s Principles, he is in control of his Creation and we belong to Him,(Psalms 24:1). When we are committed to Him we care about what He cares about and we will take care of His Creation and the people He puts in our lives without delay. Another principle is knowing we owe our every breath, our very existence to Him, and we owe our forefathers for transmitting their faith to us,(James 1:17). When we take the time to develop God’s gifts to glorify Him we will live forever by the legacy we leave the next generation, (Deuteronomy 6:5-9,24). Another principle is managing our lives according to God and not letting things manage us, (1 Corinthians 6:12). The ‘S’ is “Surrender, trusting God means to surrender what we have to him and trusting Him. The more we trust Him the more we will give of our resources whatever they may be, the gifts and talents God gives us are to be given to those around us out of love and reverence for Him. If we have little, let us share it anyway because God will trust us with more, (Luke 16:10).

Beloved God has proven His love and generosity for he did not even spare giving us His own Son so that we may have life. God is faithful and trustworthy to the point where He tells us to put Him to the test, when we give to Him freely, when we share of ourselves and what He has given us with our Church family He promises to bless us beyond what we can hold. This is where the ‘T’ comes in, it Is Testing God’s Promises; in Malachi 3:10 we read “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! The Lord has lavished his love upon us, this week let us show Him we Love Him by caring for one another in Jesus glorious name, Asherey Shalom!
