Shelburne Town Pharmacy helping to keep Shelburne mobile

January 22, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Just in time for a spring tune up, Sanjay Lekhi, owner of Shelburne Town Pharmacy was host to Bill Edwards and Erin Maguire, owners of Premier Mobility and together offered a free tune-up and safety check for scooters, wheelchairs, and walkers on January 18th.

“As Shelburne now knows, I try to give back to the community and to my customers. This specific type of service is essential to people and their quality of life. We can all use a spring tune-up from time to time!” Lekhi remarks jovially. Lekhi also recognises the growing number of those who require such services and realizes for some, any expense it too great. Offering a free Mobility and Assessibility Clinic is the perfect way for Lekhi to give back, help keep people safe, mobile and independent.

A relatively new company, not quite a year old, Premier Mobility is already making a difference to the lives of so many. Based in Alliston, Premier Mobility will come to its customers.

A quick call to Premier Mobility and they will pick up what needs repair and drop it off when repairs are completed.

“We have many years in a corporate business background and when we started our family, we wanted to be in a small community. Erin is from Alliston and it’s a great place,” commented Edwards. “The kids get to grow up with their cousins, it’s wonderful.”

When asked why they began this business in particular, both Edwards and Maguire agreed about what is important to them. Maguire explains, “It feels really good doing good. We love working with seniors. When I was young, I worked at a senior’s home in Alliston for years during high school. We get to meet people with MS, Parkinson’s, ALS, and we get to help them. At the end of the day, it feels great to look at each other and say we had a REALLY good day!”

Working with people of all ages and situations and providing freedom of mobility and independence is clearly what this couple love doing. It’s not just a job. Being an authorized vendor for the Assistive Devices Program, this dynamic duo can help with organizing funding for Walkers, Scooters, Rollators, Wheelchairs, home modifications, and equipment.

Premier Mobility also offer free in home demonstrations to help people figure out what they need, what is best for them and they will work around your schedule accommodating appointments during the day, evenings or weekends.

“Some repairs are as simple as repairing breaks or changing a battery but these things can make a huge difference to the person needing it,” commented Edwards.
