Muskies done for the season

The Shelburne Muskies Senior AA squad can start planning for the Spring after ending their season on Saturday night at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex.

The Muksies bowed out after losing 8–3 to the Elora Rocks in game four of their best of seven quarter-final playoff series.

The Rocks swept the series with a 9–3 win in game one, an 11–6 win in game two, and a 7–2 win in game three.

Elora came to the first round as a second place team in the North division of the WOAA with 29 points and a 18–6 record for the season. They finished third over all in the 16 team League.

The Muskies had a tough season this year winning only seven of 24 games in the regular season to end the year with 14 points.

In the North division, only the Lucknow Lancers finished lower in the standings. Over all, the Goderich Priates landed in the League basement with a single win after 24 games.

The Mapleton-Minto 81’s finished the regular season in first place in the North division with a 20–4 loss.

Over all, the Tillsonburg Thunder, of the South division finished on top with a 21–3 record and 42 points for the year.

In other first round series, the Mapleton-Minto 81’s dispatched the Lucknow Lancers in four games.

The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks won their series in five games over the Ripley Wolves.

The Durham Thundercats came out on top in their quarter-final series against the Shallow Lake Crushers taking the series in four games.

Elora Rocks will now face Saugeen Shores in the quarter-final round.

Mapleton-Minto will take on Durham in the other quarter-final WOAA best of seven series.
