Update: Local bus driver who saved choking child honoured

March 5, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Sarah Brake became a local hero last spring when she saved the life of a 10 year old child, Amy Callegari, who had been choking on her bus. At that time, the brave and quick thinking bus driver who works for Stock Transportation was surprised by all the attention she received. Now the modest bus driver has been shocked with further appreciation as she will be on her way to London, England along with ten other individuals from across Canada and the U.S. who will be honored by their employers for their hard work and dedication to living the company’s values of Safety, Customers, People, and Community. Brake will be receiving the Driving Out Harm Award in the safety category. Following that Brake will enjoy an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas for yet another Dinner and Award ceremony and the community of Shelburne couldn’t be more proud or grateful for the act of saving the life of a child. Safe travels Shelburne Hero!
