Meeting on Vandyk proposal poorly attended

Only a handful of Shelburne residents attended the Public Meeting on Vandyk Groups’ proposed Shelburne North 80 unit, 4 storey residential Condominium Complex and 3100 sq. ft. commercial space. Concerns included: accessibility; the need for underground parking for senior citizens, Vandyk’s target market; traffic issues especially concerning existing problems on nearby Susan Street; and whether the commercial component was adequate to serve the needs of the proposed community. Vandyk V.P. of Communities Ron McMillan, who had concerns about the competitiveness of an increased price per unit with underground parking, said company research would ensure the proposed plans service the demands of the market.
