Annual hospital gala raises $184,000

On Wednesday, June 18th, the Annual Dinner and Auction committee were pleased to present a cheque for $184,000 to Headwaters Health Care Foundation, representing the net proceeds of “Puttin’ on the Glitz”, the 17th Annual Dinner and Auction in support of Headwaters Health Care Foundation which was held on May 3rd, 2014.

The proceeds of this annual signature fundraising event will go towards the Commitment to Care Campaign. This year’s sold out gala event held at the beautiful Hockley Valley Resort and hosted by Canadian Olympic gold medalist, Jennifer Botterill, featured a gourmet cocktail reception and dinner, live music, a vintage wine raffle, and a fabulous live and silent auction that included opportunities for guests to directly donate to specific priority hospital equipment.

“We wanted to build on the success and tradition of past gala evenings, but at the same time offer something new that would excite our past and loyal attendees as well as attract new supporters, ” said Event Chair, Jenn Conroy. “We have had wonderful feedback and so we look forward to creating another unique experience for our guests next year!” Largely volunteer-driven, the event is organized by a Dinner Committee one year in advance.

Planning is already underway for next year’s event, which will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015.
