RBC donates $10,000 to Headwaters Health Care Centre in support of local nursing education

July 24, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Demonstrating their ongoing commitment to health care and nurses, RBC Royal Bank presented a $10,000 donation to Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville on May 20th. The generous donation will fund training programs, educational opportunities and resources to enable local nurses to continue providing the safest and best quality of care for patients from Orangeville and surrounding communities. With the support of RBC Royal Bank’s generous donation, the hospital will be able to support front line nurses to participate in educational opportunities related to Medication Reconciliation. Medication reconciliation helps correct discrepancies between physician orders and other medications patients are taking, thus preventing adverse events and potential patient harm. Medication reconciliation is not a component of most nursing school curricula and these funds will assist staff in developing a complete and accurate reconciled history of our patients’ current home and inpatient medication.
