Dufferin County Museum hosts Vintage Car & Bike Show

The wide variety of cars at the Dufferin County Museum’s Vintage Car & Bike Show of 2014 held on Sunday, August 17th was a visual treat for all who attended. There was no cost for registration and donations were accepted for an entrance fee.
For Classic Car lovers, this day featured the stuff dreams are made of showcasing American, Canadian and British classics as well. From designer paint finishes to exquisite rebuilds restoring these works of art to their original beauty, onlookers could have used a second day to visually explore these amazing feats of automobile design history where style rivaled class and class rivaled the extravagant and sexy. From Racers to Roadsters, to everything dynamic involving speed, this show absolutely had something for everyone.
Sarah Robinson, Curator of the Museum commented, “The event was fantastic and very successful because of the volunteers. This is our third annual event and this year for the first time motorcycles were included. We also have a garage sale, and we are fortunate to have the Paul James Band performing.”
A total of 70 cars and ten bikes were registered at the event that brought in $1200! Winner of the DCMA Choice Car, a 1957 Ford from Shelburne, DCMA Choice Bike, a 2003 URAC with Sidecar, Kid’s Choice Car, a Corvette, Kid’s Choice Bike, a 2212 CRF, Oldest Car, 1927 McLaughlin and Oldest Bike, 1971 BSA.
Nanci Malek, Coordinator of Marketing & Promotions for the Dufferin County Museum & Archives was extremely pleased with the turn-out and the day in general is another successful event well orchestrated. “Staff had a blast and so did the crowd!” commented Malek.
