Seven charges laid in fail to remainOn Friday August 15th Shelburne Police responded to calls about a fail to remain collision involving a pick-up truck having struck a car and driving over curbs in a parking lot on First Avenue. Police soon located the truck still driving in the town in a dangerous and unpredictable manner. Eventually the truck ended up in another collision with a police car on School Road and again attempted to flee police, however police managed to get the truck stopped and the driver was arrested. The investigation is ongoing, however a Shelburne man has been charged with: • Fail to Stop at Accident under the Criminal Code • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle under the Criminal Code • Take Motor Vehicle without Owner's Consent under the Criminal Code • Flight from Police under the Criminal Code • Fail to Stop When Directed by Police under the Highway Traffic Act • Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act • Fail to Remain under the Highway Traffic Act If anyone has any information in relation to this case or any other criminal activity, they are encouraged to contact the Shelburne Police Service at 519-925-3312 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.crimestopperssdm.com |
