Seven charges laid in fail to remain

On Friday August 15th Shelburne Police responded to calls about a fail to remain collision involving a pick-up truck having struck a car and driving over curbs in a parking lot on First Avenue. Police soon located the truck still driving in the town in a dangerous and unpredictable manner. Eventually the truck ended up in another collision with a police car on School Road and again attempted to flee police, however police managed to get the truck stopped and the driver was arrested.
The investigation is ongoing, however a Shelburne man has been charged with:
• Fail to Stop at Accident under the Criminal Code
• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle under the Criminal Code
• Take Motor Vehicle without Owner’s Consent under the Criminal Code
• Flight from Police under the Criminal Code
• Fail to Stop When Directed by Police under the Highway Traffic Act
• Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act
• Fail to Remain under the Highway Traffic Act
