A Kiss to Remember

October 8, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Married 50 years, it’s safe to say, Jim and Marion Sawyers defy age, gravity and almost every statistic out there when it comes to rules and marriage. On, October 4th, the Sawyers celebrated their 50th wedding Anniversary at the Shelburne Agricultural Centre surrounded by generations of family and friends. Their daughter, Teresa Steele commented, “Being married 50 years seems to be a rare thing nowadays and it makes me happy to have my parents as role models for myself and my kids.” The Sawyers, aside from outlasting so many marriages, work together each and every day running Sawyers Feed Mill on Adeline St., a staple in the Shelburne community. Perhaps it’s the mutual love and respect that is their secret to success. The most marvelous aspect about this fine couple is the couple themselves. With a firm handshake, their word means truth and honesty, this couple are straight arrows keeping life simple, appreciating family, doing their best to do their best each day, and as a community, we can all boast knowing them, even a little, and that marvelous part is why the Shelburne Free Press wishes even more wonderful life, love and happiness for many years to come.
