What began as a few students at Centre Dufferin District High School who videoed themselves during ridiculous feats of craziness, turned into an MTV series called, Careless Teens. When that contract ended, one of the four stars involved, Jesse Sebastiani faced the cold reality of an uncertain future. Recently featured in the Shelburne Free Press, Sebastiani’s next move, a life changing decision, to go out on his own. Tapping into his social media connections, Sebastiani began a cross country trek across Canada, filming his adventure, called Saved By The Status.
Continuing to inspire, Sebastiani contacted the Shelburne Free Press with an exclusive update. Upon receiving positive feed- back from ‘Saved By The Status’, and great response from his fan base, Sebastiani and three friends from the surrounding area, Kyle Forgeard, Nicko Martinovic , and Marko Martinovic then caught the attention of California You Tube and video head hunters, and it wasn’t long before the group accepted an invitation to star in the new series of well thought up pranks in a new Prank show called, NelkFilms.
“Three weeks ago the four of us said, ‘ Lets Go BIG!’ We flew out to LA, California with the money in our pockets with the hopes of becoming “youtube famous” in the best film industry in the world. With all our fans back home from the GTA supporting us, watching our story, we managed to succeed last night with a world- wide viral video called “7 Ways To Compliment Boobs”. We uploaded the video and in under 24hrs it hit 1 million views! It was then featured on a TV show called “Right This Minute” and hundreds of other big sites such as Elite daily, Cosmopolitan, Break, Playboy, Chive, Redit, Dude Comedy etc. Radio stations around the world were talking about our video pushing the second night to over 2 million views now and counting. We grew our subscriber base to almost 100 thousand now and can comfortably live in LA and produce funny videos in only three weeks of being here,” commented Sebastiani via email and Facebook.
Don’t let the title of the video fool you! The friendly and intelligent content of Sebastiani’s video can bring audiences back to another well loved comedy prank show called, Candid Camera. It’s really “LOL” in the true sense! Fresh, intelligent, brave, humorous, Sebastiani sums up the adventure to fame, “We are a YouTube prank channel called “Nelkfilmz” and we are shooting our whole adventure , making it a TV Show, and pitching it to MTV. It’s called “No Shame”. We are all out here in LA in hopes of landing the MTV show and blowing our YouTube channel up!”
Once again, Canada must be on the watch for these rising stars who walk the road rarely travelled, and can proudly boast being from Orangeville, Mississauga, and Shelburne. “Just thought I would share our story because it really is inspiring to anyone trying to chase their dreams and need that little story of achievement to help them make that leap like we did. Because sometimes it really does work out!” commented Sebastiani.
