Mayor Ken Bennington awarded Carey Holmes the Deputy Treasurer for the Town of Shelburne with an Employee Recognition Award on Monday, September 14th in Council Chambers. Ms. Holmes was recognized for her 20 years of service for the AMCTO. The Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) provides education and accreditation for Ontario municipal employees and is “Canada’s largest voluntary association of local government professionals and the leading professional development organization for municipal staff.” The organization provides “valuable insight” into issues facing municipal staff and provides “expert advice” to Government on the implementation of policy and legislation. Ms. Holmes, thanked Council and referenced AMCTO as “a very good learning opportunity for everyone.”
