Winter Hours:
We will be changing our Friday hours only. Our new hours on Friday will be 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. This will be in effect November 1, 2015 to April 30, 2016.
We have polled all our Friday night patrons regarding this change and found that they are able to come on Thursday evenings when we are open till 8 p.m. We hope this works for you as we find the evenings longer and winter approaching.
Silent Auction and Book Sale:
November 28th, will be the day of our Silent Auction and Book Sale. We have already received some great items; lovely wooden grow charts, art work and more. We welcome all donations gratefully to make this the best fundraiser ever! And of course, your support in purchasing items is also very much appreciated.
Sunday Afternoon Events: Sign-up today at your library.
This year, we are offering two Christmas décor workshops with instruction by Shirley from Shirley’s Garden Supply and Flower Shop. This is a great way to get your home ready for Christmas.
Sunday, November 22, 1–4 p.m.: Outdoor Container décor. All the materials you need will be supplied to create your very own unique outdoor pot. The cost is $75 and includes instruction, a metal container, greenery and décor items to create a special, festive entry door decoration to welcome your friends and family.
Sunday, December 20, 1–4 p.m.: Holiday table or mantel centerpiece. Just in time for your Christmas dinner, you will learn how to create a beautiful table centerpiece. All the flowers, greens and other materials will be supplied. The cost of this workshop is $40. The great thing about these workshops is that you will learn skills so you can create beautiful flower arrangements for any occasion.
Children’s Programs:
This Friday is Halloween story time; be sure to call for more information and to register if you plan on coming.
Next week’s theme is the moon and stars.
Teen Scene:
Pizza & Pages, the Teen book club, will be meeting October 29th, from 6–7 p.m. to discuss the characters in their Spooky Selections for this month. Starting in November, Teens will be invited to take part in some creative writing challenges on the first three Thursdays of the month; most of our Teens write prolifically already, but now we will challenge them to be creative around our central themes. See you there!
