The 1st Annual Natasha Paterson Memorial Car Show took place this past Sunday and, despite the clouds, more than 75 cars turned up.

All week, Sunday was calling for not the greatest weather, to which Duncan Paterson says he asked Natasha to help make it a nice day out.

Sunday morning saw lots of dark clouds in the sky, however it didn’t deter any of the participants of the car show from rolling their souped-up rides into Shelburne.

At the show, Participants Choice went to Dale Speleri with his ‘62 Chevy Impala.

Natasha’s picks where chosen by Natasha’s best friend Abby Bernier-Hagell, and they were Dave Laver’s Cobra Replica and Dave White’s VW Bug.

Top ten in the show were chosen by Duncan Paterson and are as follows

1) 1939 Ford owned by Larry Sawchuk

2) 1962 Chevy Impala owned by Dale Speleri

3) 1969 Mustang owned by Greg Marinoff

4) 1957 Oldsmobile owned by Morris Brooner

5) 1931 Ford owned by Joe Carcarni

6) 1981 GMC pickup owned by Jim Bates

7) 1929 Ford owned by Bud Dorrie

8) 1955 Chevy owned by Richard Duechette

9) 1953 Meteor owned by Steve & Bonnie Walker

10) 1932 Ford B owned by Ray Dougan

The 50/50 draw saw Jason Hancock win $400.

“I sold all the remaining gift certificates on Shelburne’s Q&A page on Facebook [Tuesday] and raised an additional $500,” Duncan tells the Free Press. “With a few numbers left to come in, it looks like we will have raised close to $5,000 when all is said and done.”

Duncan is not sure if he will distribute the money raised 50/50 between the two charities, Dufferin Child and Family Services and the Bethel House Hospice, at this time or if one will receive more than the other.

“I need to know it will go to help children,” says Paterson.

Job well done, Duncan. Natasha would have been very proud of all you have done!
