The Shelburne Senior A Muskies won their third game in a row with a come-from-behind effort to edge the Shallow Lake Crushers 4-3 on the road in what was a very chippy match-up.

Santino DeFlorio’s goal, with 21 seconds remaining, gave the Muskies their first win over the Crushers in three years, including two losses against them this season.

The Muskies found themselves in a hole early in the game as the Crushers scored two goals in the first seven minutes of the game.
Shelburne responded getting one back by the end of the period as Nick Glassford jammed one home from Luke Richardson and Santino DeFlorio.
The second period saw the Muskies tie things when Ty McCallum scored from Nate Johnson and Tyler Hogan.
The Crushers scored short-handed to retake the lead heading into the final period.
The Muskies had a great period and controlled the play as Nate Johnson tied the game five minutes into the period from Nick Hodgson while Deflorio’s late goal sealed the deal to give the Muskies the win 4-3.
It was a rough game with one fight and two GM misconducts handed out to both teams while the Muskies collected 11 minors and the Crushers taking 12 minutes in the box.
The recent wins have pushed the Muskies up the standings into a tie for ninth place leaving Elora, Lucknow, and Shallow Lake now behind.

The Muskies have huge weekend coming up as they travel to Palmerston on Friday night to take on the unbeaten Minto-Mapleton 81s before hosting the always tough Ripley Wolves on Saturday night at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex.

Game time is 8 p.m.
