Auto & Cycle’s Team

January 31, 2019   ·   0 Comments

Chris and Carly Ferris along with their 3 kids Emma, Sophie and Blake purchased Shelburne Auto and Cycle from Niels Pearson in April of 2015. Niels is still the voice on the phone and may also be the first person you see when you visit the shop, Niels has been operating Shelburne Auto and Cycle since 1991 and was an avid supporter of the Centre Dufferin District High School co-op program which is how Chris met Niels as a student in the program. Chris stayed on after his placement and entered the apprenticeship program in which he achieved his Red Seal Interprovincial Automotive Service Technician Certificate.

Shelburne Auto and Cycle is mostly an automotive repair facility performing everything from basic tire installations and oil change maintenance to brakes, steering and suspension and driveline service along with complete diagnostics and repairs to todays complex vehicles. Chris has also been trained as a Drive Clean Repair Technician when he worked with the amazing team at Auto Centre Dufferin County for many years. With Chris and Niels both riding dirt bikes for years together Shelburne Auto and Cycle  has a following of enthusiastic motocrossers  providing them and with engine repairs, suspension service, tire replacement and fluid maintenance services, they can also supply the DIYers with all the parts they need.

Carrying on with the support of the CDDHS co-op program Shelburne Auto and Cycle has helped introduce more students to the automotive trade including Dan Bullock who showed great initiative and was hired on after his placement. Dan is now registered as an apprentice and continues to build skills and regularly attends NAPA training sessions. Also an important part of our team is Niels Pearson  who is a licensed automotive, truck and coach as well as a licensed motorcycle mechanic, he is a wealth of knowledge with experience on anything with wheels and is always willing to help solve your problem.

Last but not least is Tanner Keeping. Tanner was sent to Shelburne Auto and Cycle by a good customer and they are glad he did. Tanner was previously registered as an apprentice and continues to build his skills at the shop and education by attending NAPA training sessions. Chris says “Dan and Tanner are very enthusiastic about the automotive trade, they are always interested in upgrading their skills and their tool collection, I am very lucky to have these two young and motivated guys as part of my team”.  We take part in a lot of good causes and fundraisers in the town. Our proudest moments are giving donations to Giant Tiger for the Back to School Back pack Program. Carly Ferris, my wife, also gives her free time to help with the breakfast program at Primrose  Elementary School and we  too are proud to have donated comfort bags and Apple Ipads to the Oncology ward at the Orangeville Headwaters Hospital, in memory of Lynne Ferris.

So if you have any questions  or are looking for prices on automotive repairs, don’t hesitate to give the team a call at  519-925-3980, located  at 713 Industrial Road, Unit 1, Shelburne, Chris or his team will be happy to help you. Opening Hours are  Monday to Friday 8-5pm.
