Traffic stop results in two charges with drug possession

Shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday April 19th a Shelburne Police officer stopped a motor vehicle because it was driving without any lights on. When the officer approached the vehicle, the traffic stop quickly became something bigger.
The officer entered a drug possession investigation which resulted in both occupants being arrested.
From the occupants and vehicle a significant quantity of illegal drugs were seized. In total over 150grams of marijuana was seized, with a street value of over $1500. Further 1.5 grams of Ecstasy and 1 gram of Crystal Meth were seized.
As a result, 19 year old Steven Arnold of Markdale was charged with three counts of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. 22 year old Brent Bernardi of Shelburne was charged with a single count of possession of a controlled substance.
Both accused have court dates set in May at the Orangeville Courthouse.
