Spirit Touches Art Touches Spirit

Alex Boon sang the beautiful Irish Ballad Homeward Bound at Trinity United Church in Shelburne on October 17th for the return of Spirit Touches Art Touches Spirit. Alex, who also played the flute and sang with her father Paul Boon, was joined by other Dufferin performing and visual artists from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Trinity event that celebrates art and its inspiration. This was the second successful year for the event, organized by Trinity’s Ann McAlpine, which was free to everyone with the church doors open to the community to experience one of Dufferin County’s finest Music Halls and Visual Arts Galleries. Performances, scheduled every 15 minutes, included the Shelburne Fiddlers, Forever Young, Candescence, Gary Heaslip and many more. Nearly 20 visual artists displayed paintings, textile art, pottery and carvings in the gallery where the ladies of Trinity served a delicious lunch.
