We will be closed Friday, March 25 through Monday, March 28 for Easter Weekend.
Children’s Programs:
March Break is upon us already. Our children and families are enjoying the great programs.
There will be a regular story time this Friday, March 18 at 10.30 a.m. We hope to see you there!
We are closed on Friday, March 25 so no story time that week.
The Paws to Read program with Mac the therapeutic poodle will be back on Tuesday, March 22, from 3.45 to 4.45 p.m. There is one space at 3.45 still available.
The Super Readers Club will be starting again soon. We are looking at April 5 for the next startup.
Spread the word because we are planning on making it even more fun and exciting!
Drop by and sign up for this great program.
Do you remember the TD Summer Reading program?
It is never too early to think about it.
The Super Readers Club is a great lead-in to encourage reading all year round.
Keep watching our website and our Facebook page for all our programs.
Teen Scene:
We are somewhat optimistic about our chances of winning a prize in the Forest of Reading Competition, but now we are sure! Our teens are working away on hard copies of their designs, and they are stunning.
They are bold, clear, and accurately reflect the enjoyment of reading!
Per request, this week we will continue to work on these designs, as well as our puzzle piece project from a few weeks ago.
After the March Break craze is over, we will be strengthening our writing skills by writing inquisitive and complimentary letters to the White Pine authors!
Speaking of which, did you know E.K. Johnston, author of The Story of Owen: Dragon Slayer of Trondheim, will be coming here on Thursday, April 28 @ 6.00 p.m.? It’s true. She is an enthusiastic, outgoing, and creative author with lots of tips and tricks on writing and authorship. Keep watching Facebook and the website for tickets—you won’t want to miss this one!
NEW BOOKS
Dufferin Reads: One Book One County: This year’s selection is Mãn by Kim Thúy
The first themed event will be held Sunday afternoon, April 10, at 2 p.m. at Shelburne Public Library. It will feature Jamie McAlpine presenting a wonderful travelogue and photos of a recent trip to Vietnam. You will be fascinated; it makes for interesting comparisons to the book.
