Recently, local entrepreneur Jamie-Lee Higginson of Prim Pickens’ was at the Beaver Valley Ski Club as it was transformed into a major feature film.

Based on the Molly Bloom’s memoir entitled “Molly’s Game: From Hollywood’s Elite to Wall Street’s Billionaire Boys Club, My High-Stakes Adventure in the World of Underground Poker,” the film is about a beautiful, young Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes, most exclusive poker game Hollywood had ever seen.

Everyone wanted in. Few, however, were invited to play.

Hundreds of millions of dollars were won and lost at her table.

Molly’s game became the game for those in the know, celebrities, business moguls, sports stars and, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob.

Molly staged her games in palatial suites with beautiful views and exquisite amenities. She flew privately, dined at exclusive restaurants, hobnobbed with the heads of Hollywood studios, was courted by handsome leading men, and was privy to the world’s most delicious gossip, until it all came crashing down around her in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons.

Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer, who learns that there’s much more to Molly than the tabloids lead us to believe.

In this movie, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin will be making his directorial debut and the film stars Jessica Chastain, Kevin Costner and Idris Elba.

Shooting took place at the Beaver Valley Ski Club over three days, from January 16 to 18, where Jamie-Lee tells us there were more than 350 extras on the set.

“It was amazing to see just how much detail went into each shoot,” says Jamie-Lee. “The number of people involved, the amount of trucks and the logistics of it all was very impressive.”

Jamie-Lee estimates she spent forty hours in total on the set of this movie which currently has no scheduled release date.

When asked what her most memorable moment on the set was, Jamie-Lee excitedly says “Kevin Costner was so nice. He laughed and joked with as all and at one point showed us a photo of a dog that’s his wife just got without him knowing.”
