Garage fire in Shelburne

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Wednesday April 29th, Shelburne and District Fire Department and Shelburne Police responded to a garage fire at a home on Victoria Street. Victoria Street between Frankly Street and 30th Sideroad was closed for several hours as the fire department battled the fire and the scene was investigated. Shelburne Fire was able to put the fire out before it damaged the main part of the home or the neighbour’s home. The neighbour’s home was evacuated as a precaution. The large attached garage suffered significant damage. Many of the contents of the garage also suffered damage including some antique and rare vehicles. The total value of the damage is still to be determined. The cause of the fire appears may have been relation to maintenance or repair taking place to one of the vehicles. There were no injuries in this incident The living quarters of the home suffered some smoke and water damage.
