Witches and Wolves and Woods! Oh My!

Into the Woods Jr. opens Thursday, May 21st at 8 p.m. at Grace Tipling Hall and runs to May 31st. Tickets, ranging from $12–$15, are available at the door or by calling 519 925-2600 ext. 0. The Tony Award winning Broadway musical, just released as a major feature film, centers on a baker and his wife, played by LP Stage Production’s Sheldon Peeterson and Darcey Baker, who “wish” to have a child despite the witch’s curse. In this photo, the witch (played here by Julia Herzberg) promises the couple a child if they bring her back four things to break the spell, “A cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and a slipper pure as gold.” The couple sets off Into the Woods determined to fulfill her request and break the curse. In the woods, they meet Cinderella, (Holly Ward,) Rapunzel (Hope Pettican,) Little Red Riding Hood (Maggie Carr,) Jack and the Beanstalk (Cameron Glenday,) and the Big Bad Wolf ( Bryce Hull) along with many other hilarious and princely characters. Director Alison Port says this is one of LP Stage Production’s best shows yet with great singing, dancing, costumes, sets and special effects. The show runs Thursday through Sunday this week and next with 8 p.m. evening and 2 p.m. matinée shows available. A great evening of musical entertainment for all ages.
