Amaranth teen charged with racing

On Tuesday May 19, at 1:15 p.m. Dufferin OPP were conducting speed enforcement in response to traffic complaints in Village of Laurel. Officers clocked a vehicle eastbound County Road #10 near County Rd. #11 at 121 kms per hour in a posted 50 km zone. A traffic stop was initiated. Police charged a 17 year old male driver from Amaranth with racing. His drivers license and Chrysler sedan were impounded for 7 days.
The accused will appear in court in Orangeville at a later date.
