Refuse breath sample in Melancthon

On July 12, at 5:01 a.m. Dufferin OPP dispatched to a Motor vehicle collision with a Honda Civic 2-door sedan into west ditch on Dufferin County Road #124 at the 20th Sideroad in Melancthon Township. An off-duty Orangeville Police officer had reported the collision. Police detected an odour of alcohol on driver’s breath.
The driver refused to provide roadside sample of breath into an approved screening device and arrested for Failing to Provide Breath sample. The driver was transported to Dufferin OPP Detachment to be held until sober.
As a result the investigation, the driver Bruce Scott Bond, 32 years of age of Burlington, was charged with Fail to Provide a Breath Sample contrary to Criminal Code of Canada. His license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded. He was released on a promise to appear for a later date to answer to the charges in Orangeville Court.
