Dear editor:
On Saturday, I lost my cell phone while riding my bicycle in town. It fell off the belt clip while I was riding and I didn’t notice that it was missing right away. When I did, we called the number to see if it was in the house and the phone was answered by the Shelburne Police, who said that it had been turned into them. When I retrieved the phone, I was told that the police were not authorized to give the name of the person who turned it in, but that it was a local woman.
I wanted to thank my anonymous benefactor. It is refreshing to know that we live in a community of honest and thoughtful people. As a gesture of thanks, I am making a donation the Headwaters Health Care Centre, which serves Shelburne as well as Orangeville.
Thanks again to the Shelburne Police and the lady who took the time and trouble to turn in my phone.
Yours truly,
Dave Freeman
