Left–handed fun facts

Centuries ago, left being left handed was something that was to be kept under wraps, associated with all things evil. Today if you’re left handed you’re considered to be intelligent, creative and even more attractive. August 13th the world celebrated International Left Handers’ Day, so here are some interesting and fun facts about left-handed people.
Research shows people who have high IQ levels are more likely to be left handed as well as are more likely to pursue a career in the field of art.
It has been found that left handed people are great at multi-tasking because of their ability to think faster. Ever wondered why your left handed friend almost always beats you at video games Scientists think that left handed people can handle larger amounts of stimuli better then those that are right handed.
Left handed people are perceived to be quick learners, especially when it comes to skills such as driving and playing musical instruments. Such as Jimi Hendrix who often restrung his right handed guitars so he could play with his left hand.
According to reports nearly ten percent of the people in the world are left handed. It is said that babies that are born prematurely are more likely to end up as left handed.
Studies say that left handers are generally more attractive then right handed people.
In medieval times, left handed people faced severe prejudice from members of the religious community as they believed that the devil himself was left handed. Castles in those times also had clockwise spiral staircases that gave the soldiers on top an advantage over the people climbing up the stairway as it allowed them to attack with their right hand while using their left hand for maintaining balance.
Some famous people who are/were left handed; US Presidents; Herbert Hoover, Harry S. Truman, Gerald Ford, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Keanu Reeves, Jimi Hendrix, Prince William, Judy Garland and Joey Ramone to name just a very small portion.
So to all of you lefties out there its time to celebrate all the great things about being left handed!
