Local pharmacist nominated for prestigious award

Sanjay Lekhi, pharmacist and owner of Shelburne Town Pharmacy, has been nominated for a ‘Commitment to Care and Service Award’ for the charity work he’s completed in Shelburne, over the two years and one week (Happy Anniversary Sanjay!!!) since he’s been open. The Commitment to Care & Service Awards is the only independent national awards program created to recognize and reward the many facets of pharmacy: from student leadership to life-long learning, from disease management to inter-professional teamwork, from pharmacy technician excellence to overall patient care. Now in its twenty-second year, the Annual Pharmacy Practice+ awards are a chance to celebrate the important and often unrecognized work of individuals and teams in community, retail and hospital pharmacies across the country. Many past Commitment to Care & Service Award winners have gone on to become leaders in the profession; others have returned quietly to their communities to continue to provide superlative patient care and health services. Award winners win a trip to Toronto to accept their award at a gala luncheon, held at the Thompson hotel on November 23. Winners are also profiled in Pharmacy Practice+ magazine and on CanadianHealthcareNetwork.ca. Sanjay was nominated by customers and friends for the work he’s done for SickKids Hospital, autism awareness, and customer appreciation. We at the Shelburne Free Press wish him the best of luck!
