Fresh garlic!

September 9, 2015   ·   0 Comments

Fresh Ontario garlic is now one of the delicious features at the Shelburne Farmers’ Market at First and Owen Sound Street. The quality of the flavour, aroma and consistency of fresh, firm garlic is a big step above imported garlic which has travelled possibly thousands of miles before coming to your dinner table often leaving it dry, spongy or musty. Fresh, plump garlic bursts with crisp, juicy, delicious flavour. Shelburne Farmer’s Market provides the opportunity for residents to return to basics with emphasizes on fresh, healthy, unmodified foods grown locally. The idea of really knowing where food comes from, how it is grown and by whose hands is an important lesson to pass on to the next generation, so make a trip to the Shelburne Farmers’ Market a family outing. Farmers’ Markets stress the importance of supporting local businesses, while providing the consumer with high quality products grown in the region. Market days in Shelburne are every Thursday from 3–7 p.m. just outside of Trinity United Church at 200 Owen Sound Street. Products include fresh fruit and vegetables, local meats, art and crafts, homemade baking and much more.
