Normac Chapter, Shelburn, held its last regular stated meeting of The Year of Music, Wine and Roses – Our Precious Moment of Time on June 14, under the direction Gail Elderfield and Dave Smiley.
Sister Morog O’Hara, General Grand Chapter Committee member on Regenerative Medicine and Ambassador of Scotland, Past Grand Matron of Ontario was present, as was Past Grand Patron, Brother Alstair Milligan, and our own Arnold Townsend. Many visitors from District, 9 and 10 were in attendance.
Donations were given to the three local Food Banks – Grand Valley Concern, Shelburne Food Bank and
Dundalk & District Christmas Cheer – in recognition of the Worthy Matron’s Special Project, in which tickets had been sold on the following prizes.
The winners were as follows: 1st-hand knit afghan, Shirlie Brown; 2nd-bath and body set, Sandra Keates; 3rd-Guy Dieri, roaster, Alyson Short; 4th-two lawn chairs, Shirlie Brown and 5th – Magic Bullet, Lenora Banfield.
We are very appreciative of the people who purchased tickets and made donations to the Worthy Matron’s Special Project.
Gifts were presented to Gail and David on behalf of the Officers and the Past Matron’s and Patrons by Gwen Acheson and Susan Smiley.
We received word that the Worthy Grand Matron-elect will visit us on our Chapter’s 55th birthday, next May 2017.
Our Annual Beef Supper is coming up on August 4, and I certainly hope to see everyone there.
We will be serving, and there will be great music to listen to while waiting.
