OPP seeks assistance in daytime Home Depot robbery investigation

Dufferin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a robbery at the Home Depot in Orangeville.

Dufferin OPP is appealing to the public for any witnesses or information related to the incident, which took place on Feb. 1.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Home Depot, located on Fourth Avenue in Orangeville, at 5:55 p.m.

Officers arrived shortly after the incident and spoke with key witnesses to gather information.

According to reports, a lone male suspect entered the power tool department and filled a shopping cart with various power tools. The suspect then attempted to flee the store without paying, walking directly past the cashier and heading towards a white SUV that was waiting for the suspect. 

The suspect placed the stolen tools into the SUV and fled the scene, heading towards Fourth Avenue.

• Suspect 1: South Asian male, approximately in his 40s, with short hair, wearing a thick black jacket with a sweater underneath.

• Suspect 2: South Asian male, approximately in his 40s, wearing a black hoodie, Blundstone boots, and black track pants.

• Suspect Vehicle: White Lexus RX350, approximately 2010 model, with a mask covering the license plate, further obstructing the number. The vehicle also appeared to have a dark-tinted license plate cover.
