Crime of the Week: convenience store robbery in Barrie

Crime Stoppers of Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka along with the Barrie Police Service are requesting the assistance of the public in solving this crime.

On Sunday November 10, just before 5 p.m. a lone male suspect entered the Jean’s Variety Store at 144 Burton Avenue in the City of Barrie.

The male produced a note demanding money and alluding to being armed. An undisclosed amount of money was turned over by the store clerk and the suspect fled the store in an easterly direction.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20 – 30 years of age, 6’ tall, 220-240 pounds, dirty blonde hair, unshaven with reddish hues and dots on his face. He was wearing a black nylon jacket with a fleece inlay and hood, blue jeans and black or grey shoes. He had a black knapsack with a grey design.

Barrie Police are continuing their investigation and are requesting anyone with information about the person responsible to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or go to www.tipsubmit.com to send an anonymous web tip.

Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display and you will remain anonymous. Being anonymous, you will not testify in court and your information may lead to a cash reward of up to $2,000.
