During the evening hours on Saturday July 25th, Shelburne Police was conducting a RIDE program on Owen Sound Street. A gray Passat wagon entered the program which caught an officer’s attention. This led to a roadside investigation into illegal drug possession. As a result a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was seized. Christon Jones, 26 years old of Toronto was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was released at the scene on an appearance notice, with a court date in August to answer to the charge.
During the early morning hours on Thursday July 30th, officers in Shelburne were patrolling the new subdivision off County Road 124. Officers were patrolling an area where house were still under construction when they located a suspicious Toyota pick-up truck. An investigation ensued which resulted in a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia being seized. As a result 30 year old Tyler Cummings of Barrie was charged with possession of a controlled substance under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. He also was released on an appearance notice with a first appearance court date in August at the Orangeville Court House.
