Shelburne BIA hosts first classic car show

June 18, 2026   ·   0 Comments

The Shelburne BIA hosted its first – and hopefully inaugural – classic car show on Saturday, June 13.

Residents and guests from out of town were invited to take a casual walk around downtown Shelburne and enjoy a rich selection of classic automobiles brought in by car enthusiasts from across the region.

An estimated 100 classic vehicles attended the event, giving guests the opportunity to browse a diverse selection.

Accompanying the car show was a storefront challenge put forward by the Shelburne BIA. The premise was simple: decorate your business storefront with the “Canada Proud” theme, and guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favourites.

After a tough vote and extremely tight competition, The Tipsy Fox took the win after roughly 120 voters cast their ballots.

Children’s events were also provided in case the kids weren’t as interested in vehicles as those who brought them. Activities were provided by Alterna Savings, Shelburne Library and the Mansfield Outdoor Centre.

To provide much-needed food for the event, the Royal Canadian Legion Shelburne Branch 220 hosted a barbecue with its brand-new barbecue, donated generously by Orangeville Canadian Tire.

With strong attendance from both visitors and car enthusiasts, the BIA Classic Car Show was a clear success, and there is hope that, if interest persists, it may become an annual event.
