Shelburne to celebrate redeveloped Fiddle Park

The anticipated reopening of Fiddle Park has a confirmed date – July 12.

Residents will have an opportunity to celebrate a new community gathering space next month as the Town of Shelburne officially opens the newly redeveloped Fiddle Park and launches its inaugural summer concert series.

The grand opening celebration is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Fiddle Park, located at 105 Second Line.

Shelburne Mayor Wade Mills said the work completed on the park will make it a new social gathering place for the community well into the future and is part of the town’s plan to keep Shelburne communal as it expands.

“The opening of Fiddle Park represents much more than the completion of a new recreational space,” he said. “Fiddle Park will be a place for recreation, celebration, and community gathering for years to come.”

The event will mark the completion of a major park redevelopment project and introduce what town officials hope will become a vibrant hub for arts, culture and community engagement.

The redevelopment was carried out as part of Shelburne’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan and was approved through the municipality’s 2025 budget process.

“It is an investment in community, and strong communities are built when people have opportunities to connect with one another,” Mills said. “This investment reflects our commitment to ensuring that Shelburne remains not just a growing town, but a connected and vibrant community.”

The July 12 event will feature an official opening ceremony, including a land acknowledgement and ribbon cutting, followed by live entertainment and family activities.

Performances by Bhangra dancers and local musical act, the Campfire Poets, are planned, while children and families can take part in face painting and button-making activities. Organizers are also planning a campfire with marshmallow roasting, weather permitting. Food trucks and community engagement opportunities will round out the evening.

The grand opening will also serve as the launch of the new Fiddle Park Concert Series, which will continue throughout the summer with a variety of performances and events.

The town says the series is intended to bring live music and cultural experiences to the heart of Shelburne while showcasing the park’s transformation into a dynamic destination for both residents and visitors.

Admission to all concert series events will be free, and residents are encouraged to enjoy the outdoor performances throughout the season.
