Man faces serious charges for domestic assault

Late last week Shelburne police reported that they arrested and charged an adult man from Waterloo in relation to a serious domestic incident that took place in Shelburne on November 5th.
The victim suffered significant facial injuries as well as more minor injuries throughout her body. The Waterloo man was arrested and charged for Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon and two counts of Breach of Probation. He was held for a show cause hearing and was released on a recognizance by the courts with strict conditions.
On Monday November 10th Shelburne Police received reports that the same man had breached some of his new court conditions. As a result Shelburne Police had Waterloo Regional Police locate and arrest the man, who was subsequently returned to Shelburne Police.
Shelburne Police charged the man with two counts of breach of recognizance and one count of breach of probation.
The male who is not being identified for the safety and benefit of the victim and her family was again held for a bail hearing.
