Shelburne Brownies visited the Council Chambers on November 24th to get an up close look at the political workings of the Town of Shelburne. Patti Hossie Project Manager for the Town, gave the girls a tour and introduced them to Council and Chambers. The Brownies, who seemed a bit awed meeting the Councillors and Mayor, are seen here with Mayor Elect Ken Bennington who made himself available for questions. Learning about civic responsibility is an important part of Brownie training, and hands on experiences, such as a visit to the Town Hall, give these young women of the future a real experience to build an understanding of the role they might someday play in community and country.
