Midget LL2 outwit Dundalk

The hockey season is going very well for Shelburne’s Local League Midget 2 (LL2). The team has been successful at most of their games, only accepting a few mid-season losses (and one tie).
On Sunday, December 7th, the team came out on top once again in their home arena against Dundalk.
Speed was of the essence during the game, with both teams flying to keep-up, while the defencemen made and maintained an iron wall.
Period one finished with double zeros on the board – leaving players in the mood to push harder in period two.
Shelburne got the ball rolling, or the “puck flying” as it were, early in the second, as Justin Bennett broke through with the first goal of the night, assisted by Nick Loucks.
The second goal was secured by Kyle Burke, unassisted, who went on to score goal three as well, assisted by Luke Russell.
Further goals were scored by Rhett Fleming, assisted by Dillon Dever; Tristan Melnik, assisted by Nick Loucks; Justin Bennett, assisted by Rhett fleming; and the closing goal was scored by Dillon Dever, unassisted.
Shelburne Midget LL2 players are working well together this season, despite being a mixed group from Grade 10 to Grade 12. Using coordinated passing techniques, the team captured a final score of 7–2 against Dundalk – a tough, and challenging team.
The Midget LL2 will play their next game against Honeywood.
