Shelburne & District Fire Department Toy and Food Drive well underway
Captain Mike Morrell reports that Shelburne is already in the Christmas spirit and thinks this year, the 4th year since its inception, the Toy & Food Drive has a great chance of being the best year yet! “We’ve already purchased approximately $1000 in toys and $600 in food items. We’re making good progress,” commented Morrell.
There are items of necessity which would be greatly appreciated that sometimes get overlooked as Morrell explains, “We always need baby food, hygiene products, gift items for teenagers such as curling irons, blow dryers, shavers for men, everyday items we take for granted.”
On Monday, Morrell met with Marion Sawyers, of Sawyers Feed Mill, a staple in Shelburne, where he received a $500 donation. “We appreciate the Sawyers donation so much!” commented Morrell.
If you would like to donate to the Shelburne &District Fire Department’s 4th Annual Toy and Food Drive, visit the Fire Department at Foodland on Saturday, December 20th beginning at 10 a.m. and visit the Fire Hall located at 114 O’Flynn Street, Monday, December 22nd at 9 am. Call Captain Mike Morrell for more information at the Fire Hall at 519 925-5111.
