John vanTeunenbroek owner of No Frills in Shelburne holds one of the new “quarter key chains” now available for purchase.
The chains, which hold a 25 cent piece – keeping it handy for the weekly shopping cart – are selling for $2, but $1 of every sale will go to the Shepherd’s Cupboard Food Bank in Shelburne.
“There was a demand for the item and I saw an good opportunity to tie it to the Food Bank,” says Mr. vanTeunenbroek, who started the initiative.
As a grocery store owner, he says he sees a direct link between his business and the Food Bank and believes it should be his primary community cause.
